High-performance 8-inch woofer

At the heart of the Sub8 PRO is a high-excursion 8-inch woofer designed for powerful, controlled low-frequency reproduction. Its fibre-reinforced paper cone, rubber surround and carefully engineered magnet system allow substantial movement while maintaining accuracy, helping the subwoofer reproduce frequencies down to 26Hz at -6dB.

Powerful Class D amplification

The woofer is driven by an efficient 200W RMS Class D amplifier, with DSP-managed limiting helping the system deliver its full performance while protecting the amplifier and driver. This combination provides the output required for accurate bass monitoring without sacrificing control at higher listening levels.

Advanced DSP and bass management

The Sub8 PRO provides extensive control over how it integrates with your studio monitors. Selectable 70Hz, 85Hz, 100Hz and 115Hz crossover frequencies are joined by detailed phase adjustment, level control and delay, allowing the subwoofer to be properly aligned with your monitoring system and listening position.

ADAM Control network integration

An Ethernet connection allows the Sub8 PRO to be managed remotely using the free ADAM Control software for Windows and macOS. From your computer, you can control multiple compatible ADAM Audio monitors and subwoofers, adjust EQ and delay settings in real time and manage firmware updates from different listening positions around your studio.

SoundID Reference room correction

The onboard DSP includes a platform for importing calibration filters created using Sonarworks SoundID Reference. This allows compatible stereo and multichannel monitoring systems to be calibrated for the acoustic characteristics of your room, with the resulting correction running directly from the Sub8 PRO hardware.

Ready for immersive audio

Alongside conventional Stereo operation, the Sub8 PRO includes dedicated modes for professional multichannel and immersive audio applications. LFE mode uses a dedicated 120Hz cutoff designed for LFE channels in Dolby Atmos systems, while Wide mode allows the subwoofer to operate full range when bass management is handled elsewhere in the signal chain.

Professional analogue and digital connectivity

Two balanced XLR/TRS combination inputs and two balanced XLR outputs make the Sub8 PRO easy to integrate into professional analogue monitoring systems. AES3 digital input and output are also provided, supporting two channels of digital audio at up to 24-bit/96kHz.

Footswitch bass management bypass

A dedicated footswitch connection allows bass management to be bypassed during a session. This provides a quick way to compare your mix with and without the subwoofer and check how the low end translates between different monitoring configurations.

Robust studio construction

The Sub8 PRO uses a thick, vibration-resistant MDF cabinet with additional internal bracing to help minimise unwanted resonance. Its front-firing design and FEA-optimised bass reflex port are engineered for controlled airflow, while a solid steel grille protects the woofer when the subwoofer is positioned underneath a studio desk.
