Elektron Outbox 8 Audio/CV Breakout Box & USB Interface

The Elektron Outbox 8 is a versatile eight-channel audio and CV breakout box designed to expand the connectivity of compatible Elektron equipment, USB MIDI devices and USB audio devices. With eight fully configurable DC-coupled outputs, Outbox 8 can route audio, generate CV signals, convert MIDI to CV or operate as an eight-output USB audio interface for a computer, tablet or phone.

Eight configurable audio and CV outputs

Outbox 8 provides eight 1/4-inch impedance-balanced, DC-coupled outputs that can be configured for audio or CV depending on your setup. This makes it possible to send individual tracks or submixes to an external mixer, effects processors, monitors or other hardware, while using other outputs to control CV-compatible equipment.

Expand compatible Elektron setups

When connected to a compatible Elektron Overbridge-enabled device, Outbox 8 provides additional physical outputs for routing individual tracks and submixes. This opens up considerably more flexibility for hardware mixing, external effects processing and live performance setups without being restricted to the outputs available directly on your Elektron instrument.

CV control for modular equipment

Each output can also be assigned to CV duties, allowing Outbox 8 to integrate modular and other CV-controllable equipment into your setup. Supported CV signal types include Pitch V/Oct, Pitch Hz/V, Value Lin, Trig, Gate and Clock, with a CV output range of ±5V.

USB MIDI to CV conversion

Outbox 8 can operate as a dedicated USB MIDI-to-CV interface, allowing MIDI information to control CV-based equipment. Use an Elektron device to play, sequence, modulate and synchronise modular hardware, or connect a compatible USB MIDI controller for direct control of your CV instruments.

Eight-output USB audio interface

Connect Outbox 8 to a computer, tablet or phone and it can function as an eight-output USB audio interface. Individual channels from your DAW or other compatible software can be routed to external mixers, effects, monitors and other hardware, providing a straightforward way to add additional physical outputs to a software-based setup.

USB connectivity and flexible integration

Outbox 8 features a USB-C power input alongside a USB 2.0 High-Speed USB-C data connection with USB Power Delivery, dual-role data and dual-role power support. It is compatible with Elektron Overbridge-enabled units and offers broad support for USB class-compliant MIDI devices.

Many USB class-compliant audio devices are also supported, although audio compatibility can vary depending on the manufacturer and firmware, so compatibility should be checked before use with a specific third-party USB audio device.

Compact studio and performance design
