Powered by Roland ACB technology

The SYSTEM-8 uses Roland’s Analog Circuit Behavior technology to accurately recreate the sound and behaviour of classic analogue synthesisers. Its native SYSTEM-8 engine delivers powerful modern synthesis with three oscillators per voice, versatile filters, extensive modulation, and high-quality onboard effects.

PLUG-OUT synth compatibility

The SYSTEM-8 features three PLUG-OUT slots, allowing you to load and control authentic Roland synth models directly from the hardware. Included PLUG-OUT synths include the legendary JUPITER-8, JUNO-106, and JX-3P, with additional instruments available through Roland Cloud.

Layer and split multiple synth engines

Create complex performances by layering or splitting the native SYSTEM-8 engine alongside loaded PLUG-OUT synths. This enables huge textures, stacked sounds, and versatile live performance setups from a single instrument.

Hands-on control surface

With one of the most extensive hardware control layouts available, the SYSTEM-8 features dedicated knobs, sliders, and buttons for real-time sound shaping and performance control. Illuminated controls provide clear visual feedback on dark stages and in studio environments.

Advanced sequencing and performance tools

The built-in polyphonic step sequencer supports real-time and step recording, motion recording, and external MIDI/CV sequencing. Separate sequencers for upper and lower layers allow complex arrangements and evolving performances.

Modern connectivity for studio and stage

The SYSTEM-8 integrates easily into modern studio and live setups with USB audio/MIDI, traditional MIDI connectivity, and CV/Gate outputs for controlling modular and analogue hardware synths.
