Strymon La Brea Analog Tape Drive Pedal
The Strymon La Brea is an all-analog tape saturation drive pedal designed to deliver everything from smooth breakup and warm compression through to heavy distortion and fuzz-like drive. Inspired by tape saturation techniques, La Brea gives guitarists and bassists a different take on overdrive, with a feel that responds naturally to picking dynamics, volume changes and amp settings.
The main Tape Sat control adds soft-clipping, tape-style saturation, with lower settings providing light overdrive and transient smoothing, while higher settings push into heavy saturation, sustain and fuzz textures. A dedicated Gain switch lets you choose the range of the Tape Sat control, making it easy to move between low-to-medium gain tones and more aggressive drive sounds.
The Shift switch adjusts the high-frequency contour, with flat, high and mid settings to help shape brightness, bite and clarity. La Brea also includes a variable in-phase Dry path, allowing you to blend clean signal back into the saturated tone for added definition, dynamics and size, even at higher gain settings.
Running at 24V internally for added headroom and quiet operation, the Strymon La Brea keeps the signal path fully analog, with true bypass switching, mono input/output and a compact pedalboard-friendly design.
